Marcel Joubert decided to secure the future of Domaine Joubert in 1972: from then on the 30-100 year old vines would be perfectly protected and maintained and viticulture was going to be 100% organic, as to let the vines really speak their sense of place. The soil for these vines is pink granit, a soil that is capable of expressing fenomenale minerality and energy.
The winemaking nowadays is purely focused on making natural wine: no added sulfites during vinification or at bottling, native yeasts only, no fining, no filtering. This is purely fermented grape juice, the way we like it, on the condition that the wines are balanced and stable. And Joubert, like the best, is capable of delivering these happy, drinkable Beaujolais wines. One of our favorite wines in the shop.
